The New-Shape Volkswagen T-Roc Arrives — Smarter, Sharper and Ready for Business

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the next-generation T-Roc, and it’s fair to say this popular crossover has levelled up in all the right areas. Already one of VW’s biggest success stories with more than two million sold since 2017, the new model refines everything drivers loved about the original while adding smarter tech, a more premium cabin, and a fresh range of electrified powertrains.

At Pulman Fleet, we know our business and personal lease customers rely on vehicles that combine efficiency, reliability and everyday usability — and this new T-Roc looks set to hit that sweet spot once again.

A More Premium Interior Straight Out of the Box

Volkswagen’s biggest step forward is inside the cabin. The new T-Roc ditches the older, plasticky layout for something far more modern and upmarket. Expect cleaner screens, sharper graphics and an improved infotainment system that makes daily driving noticeably easier. The quality uplift isn’t subtle — this is a crossover that finally feels as polished as it always should have.

Hybrid Powertrains Lead the Line-Up

At launch, the T-Roc lands with a refined 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid engine, available with 115PS or 148PS, paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox. It’s quiet, smooth and built with efficiency in mind — exactly what fleet operators look for in terms of running costs and real-world economy.

But VW isn’t stopping there. Over the next 12 months, the range will expand to include:

  • 2.0 eTSI Mild-Hybrid (200PS) with 4Motion AWD
  • Two Full-Hybrid Models (134PS and 166PS) — a first for T-Roc
  • Range-Topping T-Roc R (328PS) with standard AWD

This futureproof powertrain strategy makes the new T-Roc an attractive long-term choice for fleets transitioning towards greener, lower-emission models.

Driving Experience: Confident and Comfortable

Volkswagen has worked hard on balance and refinement. The mild-hybrid system feels seamless, offering smooth pull-away performance and a relaxing drive. Handling is light but controlled, and despite its compact footprint, the T-Roc feels composed on both urban and motorway journeys. Larger wheels can firm up the ride slightly, but overall it’s a confident all-rounder for everyday use.

Practicality That Fits Modern Fleet Needs

The T-Roc sits squarely between the T-Cross and Tiguan in size, making it ideal for drivers who want crossover styling without going too large. Boot space remains generous, and while the rear seats are a little tighter than some rivals, it’s still a strong fit for company car users, travelling staff, and SME fleets looking for something stylish yet cost-effective.

Styling: Familiar, Freshened and Still Distinctive

VW has chosen evolution over revolution. The new T-Roc retains its bold, youthful look with standout colour choices, sporty trims and distinctive wheel designs. It’s not a complete visual overhaul — but that’s deliberate. Customers loved the outgoing model’s personality, and Volkswagen has leaned into that rather than reinventing it.

Pulman Fleet Verdict

The new-shape Volkswagen T-Roc feels more mature, more efficient and more appealing than ever. With improved cabin quality, a broadened hybrid line-up and the dependable driving feel VW is known for, it’s shaping up to be one of the standout compact SUVs in the business leasing market for 2025 and beyond.
